Derin received her BSc in Psychology from the University of Sussex in 2023. Her undergraduate thesis critically examined the validity of the Synchrony Judgment task as a measure of temporal binding windows. She is currently completing an MSc, where her research project investigates the role of cerebellar neuromodulation in reward behaviour.
